Humans have desires; we perceive our desires and aspiration somewhat unique to us as individuals. Our desires drive our individual thoughts, speech and actions. We align the physical movement of our bodies to attain what we want. Our individuality is defined by our supposed unique thought speech and actions. In short, what we want makes us who we are.
As black people, our aspirations range from status, material things, security etc. What we aspire to get is defined by our experience and exposure. If my experience was growing up to see my father that I look up to as my hero, go to work and make a living, then my desires may be tailored based on that experience of seeing this. Another example is, if growing up I am exposed to watching music videos that promote materialism and spending money on foreign items; then my desire may be tailored to these messages from the television.
One thing that can be agreed is that desire is personal to the individual, to attain this we make individual choices and when achieved our emotional response is happiness.
If our desire is born out of experience and exposure, then that means those that control this control our desire, thoughts, speech, action and indirectly control our individuality.
In this episode, Mr Banxxx examines the perception and deception of individualism and the adverse outcome in Black Society. As black people, our thoughts, speech and actions define our contribution to black society which is mostly pursuing a personal interest in the name of individualism to detriment of Black society.
